Opportunities To Get Involved

School Council or A Related Sub-Committee

School Council is the governing body of the school made up of parent and staff representatives. Each year we seek parent nominations for election to School Council. Our school council meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Upon election members hold their position for a period of 2 years. After this time they can renominate for a further term. A role for all school council members is to be part of or coordinate a sub-committee.

Attending Working Bees

Each term we conduct working bees for families to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the school grounds. Working bees in Term 1 & 4 are Twilight events (Friday nights) and during Term 2 & 3 are held on the weekend.

PMP Program At Prep Level

During the year Prep students participate in the Perceptual Motor Program (PMP). This program helps develop gross motor and fine motor skills in young children. It involves students taking part in a range of activities to support the students' development of body perception, language development, strength, fitness, flexibility and spatial awareness. Parents are required to oversee an activity for the session. This parent assistance allows us to provide a broader range of activities for each lesson.

Parents Association

The Parents' Association is an active and collaborative group of parents that provide fun activities for the children throughout the year while raising funds for the school. Some of these include supporting the sale of goods at school events, chocolate fundraisers, the Colour Run and special events for mums, dads and special friends throughout the year. There is no election process, everyone one is welcome to attend. Meetings are advertised in the school newsletter.

Classroom Assistance

Our staff welcome your assistance in the classroom. There are a range opportunities you can assist in the classroom, this includes helping with literacy session in the morning, listening to students read, and helping with special class activities that may arise throughout the year.

Working In The Canteen

Parents are able to volunteer to sell goods every day from 1:30pm to 2pm and to assist with lunch orders on a Friday from 11am to 2pm. To volunteer you will also need a current working with children check.

Attending Excursions & Camps

To enhance learning we offer excursions and in the upper year levels camps. In order to support the required ratios we often need parent volunteers. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's friends as you supervise small groups of students.
